St. Olaf's Lutheran Church - 1994
|
Founded in 1844, by a group of Norwegian settlers, the first church was built in what is now the
cemetery across the road from the new church. Sermons were preached in homes, up until 1847 when the church was finally
incorporated. Norwegian remained the language spoken until it was found too difficult to preach. The new church was built in 1873. A
Sunday school was established in 1900 and later, the church was renovated in 1967 and again in 1970. St. Olaf's still stands as it did in 1873 with a few renovations. |
